Product Description

1969 Fender Redondo Acoustic Guitar

Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Redondo acoustic guitar in excellent, 100% original condition. This fairly rare Fender acoustic was only produced from 1969-71, and this first year example provides a classic Fender twist on more traditional acoustic guitar luthiery. With a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the tone is warm and defined, with a crisp top end and solid projection. The bolt-on maple neck gives the guitar a feel and easy playability most associated with electric instruments.

The maple neck has a fairly chunky and full C profile that has a bit more depth than an electric Fender neck of the era, while still playing very comfortably. The veneer rosewood fret board has pearl dot inlay and original fret wire.

Visible through the sound hole, “Fender Musical Instruments” text is printed along the inside center seam, along with a date stamp from the 37th week of 1969. The original gold pick guard is intact  The original Fender F neck plate is present as well. Cosmetically, this guitar is in great shape, with only some cracks to the varnish present (as pictured). The mahogany back and sides are in great shape, with light scattered finish checking and only a few tiny nicks. As the photos show, this is a clean and well cared for vintage Fender acoustic guitar with great playability and sweet tone.

Includes original Hard Case.
